My name is Sylvia Scott-James, the founder of Hygiene at Home; A Shropshire based mobile dental hygiene and dental therapy service,  designed to bring professional, high quality and personalised dental care directly to you.

I graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2022 with a BSc (Hons) in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. Since then, I’ve worked in private, NHS and domiciliary clinical settings, providing oral hygiene and restorative treatments to both adults and children.   Overtime, I became increasingly aware of how rushed appointments and rigid targets in traditional practice settings can negatively impact patient care;  increasing anxiety, reducing treatment quality, and often leading to a poor overall dental experience.

I wanted to change that.

Hygiene at Home was created to offer longer, more cost-effective appointments in the comfort and 
familiarity of your own home. This mobile model not only offers convenience, but also allows patients to feel more relaxed and in control of their care; leading to better outcomes and a more positive experience overall.

I am registered with both the General Dental Council and the Care Quality Commission, am 
comprehensively insured, and complete regular 
continuing professional development (CPD) to stay up to date with the latest clinical techniques and 
regulatory requirements.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to an amazing 13-year-old boy who is rugby mad!   When we’re not busy with school or work, you’ll often find us paddle boarding, sailing  or exploring the beautiful 
countryside we’re lucky to call home.
