Routine Dental Hygiene Treatment

Routine dental hygiene appointments are usually scheduled every 3 to 6 months.  The recall interval is 
determined by your individual needs, in particular the presence or absence of active gum disease.

At each routine visit, we will:

  • Review and discuss any updates to your medical history,  social factors and dental habits
  • Discuss any concerns or questions you may have regarding your oral health
  • Carry our oral cancer and gum disease screening
  • Identify any early or established dental decay and provide treatment options if appropriate
  • Remove soft and hard plaque (biofilm and calculus) deposits using ultrasonic and manual instrumentation
  • Provide detailed oral hygiene advice tailored to your individual needs
  • A professional polish for a smooth, clean finish
